The temperature transmitters can simultaneously support an integral probe and external inputs, including a combination of thermocouple, RTD and discrete inputs. When the integral probe is a thermocouple, two external thermocouples or one external RTD can be wired to the temperature transmitters. An external thermocouple or an external RTD can be wired to these wireless transmitters when the integral probe is an RTD.

The line also includes an analog input interface for adding wireless capabilities to 4-20mA devices. The instruments wirelessly transmit measurements to a base radio connected to a control system or data acquisition device such as a recorder or PC. Each base radio accepts the signals of up to 42 transmitters. The base radio provides Modbus or 4-20mA analog signal output for flexible communications. Accurate, reliable, and rugged, these instruments perform well in industrial environments. They offer exceptional accuracy of 0.1% of full-scale reading at reference conditions and feature long battery life (3 to 5 years). An alarm warns of low-battery condition, and extensive self-checking software and hardware continuously monitor instrument operation. The XYR 3000 gateways provide a wireless interface between various data buses used in automation applications.
